Mica

Mica ore refers to natural mineral deposits that primarily contain mica, a group of sheet silicate minerals. Mica minerals are known for their perfect cleavage, flexibility, and resilience to heat and electricity. Mica minerals occur in igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks worldwide. They are often found in pegmatites (coarse-grained igneous rocks), schists, and gneisses.

Mica ore is mined using conventional open-pit or underground mining methods, depending on the depth and characteristics of the deposit. Once mined, the ore undergoes processing to extract mica flakes or sheets. This typically involves crushing and screening to separate the mica from other minerals and gangue.

Major producers of mica include countries such as India, China, Russia, Brazil, and the United States. These countries have significant deposits and processing facilities for mica mining and production.
